IN SEMINOLE COUNTY, YOU CAN CALL THE NON-EMERGENCY NUMBER AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SCREE 407-665-6650. THEY ALSO HAVE THIS NEW WEBSITE SET UP WHERE BUSINESSES SUBM INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT PRECAUTIONS THEY’RE TAKING AND YOU CAN SCROLL THROUGH IN SOME AREAS WITHOUT A COUNTY-WIDE MASK MANDATE, IT’S A BIT MORE COMPLICATED. BREVARD, POLK, SUMTER, AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES ALL TOLD US THEY DO NOT HAVE A DEDICATED COUNTY-SPECIFIC RESOURCE FOR RESIDENTS TO REPORT VIOLATIONS. A SPOKESPERSON FOR MARION COUNTY TOLD ME THEY ALSO DO NOT HAVE A COUNTY-RUN RESOURCE, BUT RESIDENTS CAN CALL THE COVID-19 HOTLINE RUN BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN MARION COUNTY AT THIS NUMBER, 352-644-2590. LAKE COUNTY ALSO DOES NOT HAVE A MASK MANDATE, BUT THE SHERIFF’ OFFICE SAYS YOUR BEST COURSE OF ACTION IS TO CALL THEM IF IT’S IN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY. AND IF NOT, CALL THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WITH JURISDICTION. OUTSIDE OF COUNTY RESOURCES, YOU CAN LOOK UP WHAT AGENCY LICENSES THE BUSINESS YOU’RE CONCERNED ABOUT, AND CONTACT THEM TO FIL A COMPLAINT THROUGH THEM. WESH 2 News has received many questions about what people can do if they are concerned that a business might not be following safety protocols when it comes to preventing the spread of COVID-19.WESH 2 News looked into what people can do to report activity they do not feel is safe or that which is not compliant with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.From face mask use to capacity restrictions, some of the safety protocols for the pandemic differ, depending on where you are.For those who want to report a concern about an Orange County business, officials ask that you first try calling 311. If you cannot get through, try going online, HERE.In Seminole County, if you have a concern about a business not following safety guidelines, call 407-665-6650. CLICK HERE to access Seminole County resources about COVID-19 safety concerns.In some areas without a countywide mask mandate, it's more complicated.Brevard, Polk, Volusia and Sumter county officials said they do not have a dedicated county resource available for residents to report businesses that they deem unsafe.A spokesperson for Marion County said they do not have a county-run resource but that residents can call this number: 352-644-2590.
